About the tournament
The Mubadala Citi DC Open is one of the most significant stops on the North American summer calendar. Held at the William H.G. FitzGerald Tennis Center in Rock Creek Park, the event became even more prominent in 2023 when the Citi Open combined with the Mubadala Silicon Valley Classic, creating the only combined ATP-WTA 500 tournament in the world. Originally co-founded in 1969 by Arthur Ashe, Donald Dell, and John A. Harris, it is the fourth-longest running professional tennis event in the United States and the longest-running tournament staged in a public park.
