About the tournament
The Rio Open presented by Claro is a premier ATP 500 clay-court event played at the Jockey Club Brasileiro, featuring eight clay courts and a 6,200-seat main stadium. Rafael Nadal won the inaugural title in 2014, followed by David Ferrer in 2015. Other champions include Dominic Thiem (2017), Diego Schwartzman (2018), and Cristian Garin (2020). Carlos Alcaraz won in 2022, becoming the youngest ATP 500 champion since the category began in 2009. Sebastian Baez is the only player to successfully defend the title (2024–2025).
