About the tournament
The BMW Open by Bitpanda is the first of four German tournaments on the ATP Tour calendar and is played in Munich, Bavaria’s capital. The International Tennis Championships of Bavaria dates back to 1900, while the modern-era BMW Open has been staged at Munich’s Iphitos Tennis Club since 1974. German players have won the title 11 times, with Philipp Kohlschreiber (2007, 2012, 2016) and Alexander Zverev (2017–2018, 2025) sharing the record with three titles each. The tournament was upgraded to ATP 500 status in 2025.
