About the tournament
Set in the Alps in Austria’s Tyrol region, the Generali Open Kitzbühel is one of the most scenic venues on the ATP Tour. The tournament combines classic clay-court tennis with a mountain backdrop that makes it a distinctive stop on the summer calendar. Germany’s Philipp Kohlschreiber, a local resident, won the title in both 2015 and 2017. In 2019, Dominic Thiem gave home fans a long-awaited moment by becoming the first Austrian champion since Thomas Muster lifted the trophy in 1993.
